What happens when there is an accident on the roads.

On average, travelling by any vehicle on our busy roads is reasonably safe and most of the time you can get from one side of the country to the other without incident.  However, unfortunately there are times when accidents happen and that’s when certain emergency protocols are put into place, depending on the size and scale of the incident. For minor bumps and fender benders, the emergency services do not attend and the general public take details of each other’s Insurance carriers and deal with the situation themselves.

When the accident is unfortunately on a bigger scale, or a passenger is injured then the emergency services are called to the scene.  If there are lorries or larger vehicles involved and there has been a potentially dangerous chemical spill, then the fire-brigade is called to make sure all the hazardous liquids are cleaned up and the road surface is safe again. Using specialist Chemical Spill Kits provided by a professional company such as https://hydepark-environmental.com/spill-response/spill-kits/chemical they work together with the Police and the Ambulance Services to make sure all vehicle passengers are safe and the road surface fit to travel on once again.

The likelihood of you being involved in a serious accident is remote and you can feel safe and happy using the motorways and main roads of the United Kingdom.  Drive safely following the rules and regulations of the highways and your journey will be quick, easy and safe.
