One of the main conclusions of the study is that the number of online travel sales has increased by 50% through the affiliate platforms during the June-July 2011 period compared to the same period last year, highlighting a important increase in online vs. offline shopping trends in the sector.

In terms of the periods in which users this year have made their purchases, it highlights an increase in online purchases in the travel sector during the month of July, this being the most successful, both in 2010 and 2011, confirming the A tendency for users to postpone their purchasing decisions and leave travel bookings for the end.

The categories that have grown the most this year in the first part of the summer have been car rental and vacation packages, while flights have had less growth and hotel reservations have been maintained.

Elena Pozuelo, Head of Operation Sales of zanox explains that “the crisis explains that people delay their purchasing decisions online and wait until the end, being the month of July the strongest in purchases, especially this year 2011”.
